minutes for EC Meeting on tue oct 30 2007 at 07:00 pm
In Attendance: Eric Sample, Joseph Daigle, Alli Hundley, Carlin Bright, Julie Dykas, Morgan Miller, Brad Wells, Dr. Bob Wood, Brad Knebel
Officer Reports:
Business Manager (Alli Hundley) :
- Negotiations for rights for Urine Town have started. Slight problem because Greg had originally received authorization to purchase the rights. This will become Nihn (they don’t like to deal with students).
- Reserved out opening weekend of Macbeth.
Production Manager (Joseph Daigle) :
- Macbeth opened last weekend.
- Post production meeting will be scheduled for after Macbeth closes.
- VT rehearsals are going. There will be some design stuff happening. Runs November 30, December 1.
- Auditions for spring shows the first two weekends of spring semester. Play still has to be picked.
- First will be small show, second will be Urine Town.
Marketing Director (Carlin Bright) :
- Macbeth marketing is pretty much done. Fight rehearsal next Tuesday will be in Yellow Jacket Park.
- Starting to think about marketing for VT.
Secretary (Julie Dykas) :
- Minutes continuing to be posted. No real report.
President (Eric Sample) :
- P-Card policy is that no student association can allow groups to use their P-Cards. There will be a meeting on Friday to discuss whether some exceptions can possibly be made, because Georgia Tech uses money differently than other schools. It might be possible that Brad (as an employee) can go through the training and get a P-Card in his name. There is also discussion of having a debit type card with a fixed amount of money.
- We need to bear down on designers more, do fewer, larger purchases, with invoices.
- Two discount events: those in costume will receive $1 off on the 31st. There will be Greek night next Thursday.
MAL (Brad Knebel) :
- Costume upheaval/extravaganza still needs to be firmly scheduled/planned.
Technical Director (Brad Wells) :
- Our emphasis server is still in being fixed.
- Our board will get new buttons after Macbeth closes.
- Replacement part for Singer sewing machine is in.
Dr. Bob Wood :
- Applications for Artistic Director are trickling in. Ad is on website and with ACPA.
- Word is being passed and needs to continue to be passed to those who might be interested, but not necessarily actively looking for a job.
Committee Reports:
Historian (Morgan Miller) :
- Still collecting stuff. Donations due to library at Thanksgiving.
- Going to try to rehang posters in the lobby.
LTT!:
- Shows on the Fridays of Macbeth.
- Sending in a video for DSIF soon.
- LTT! has been having trouble keeping crowds for VT/LTT! shows. Looking for ideas to keep people for the LTT! portion. (Discussion of possible solutions)
- Newbie show will be during one of the VT/LTT! shows.
Social Futon
- James’s play is coming up.
PRC :
- Working on getting the plays and music right now. Next Tuesday they will decide who is in charge of each show.
- Waiting for Gateaux, Tally’s Folly, and The Valiant are the options for the one acts in February. The plays will be available for people to read, based on interest in directing decisions will be made. Students will be given first choice for directing.
Old Business:
- MAL position: discussion over whether MAL should head the Social Futon, or take over other responsibilities. Constitution says MAL is in charge of attendance records for club. Perhaps MAL should try to encourage class members to become involved in the club. We will take it back to its original intent, but try to make the MAL take it seriously.
- Discussion on position of associate members.
New Business:
- Some people would like a design computer.
- Need to figure out how to select students for AD search committee.
